Did you know Saturn’s rings
are disintegrating? Though Saturn’s ring loss is a slow event that’ll take
millions of years to conclude, I see some interesting metaphorical, miraculous relationships
with what’s happening in the astrological world.
Saturn, Capricorn & Aquarius Astrological Connections
The planet Saturn is currently in the sign of Capricorn. Saturn is
Capricorn’s and Aquarius’s ruling planet in Western Astrology. Saturn represents structures, our day-to-day
world, time, hard work, life lessons and authority. Capricorn and Aquarius shared Saturnian
influences are – karma, diligence,
tradition and progress.
Saturn, Pluto in Capricorn – Astrological
Influence
Pluto in astrology rules destruction, transformation and a revealing of truth. It also reveals what’s always been there, what’s been hidden. Pluto is currently in the sign of Capricorn. It entered Capricorn in late 2008 and remains till 2024. It In the past years, since Capricorn entered into the sign of Pluto, there’s been notable, sometimes abrupt, violent change or increase, as well as revealing of long-existing truths amid our traditional social, political and religious structures to an intense degree worldwide.
Saturn, the planet itself, has always existed within the rings, but partially ‘hidden’. To use previous examples mentioned, women have always had the power to say ‘me too’ but haven’t felt encouraged or emboldened collectively to do so till 2017. Hetero norms have been the most widely accepted for ages, but other gender preferences weren’t, but because of that fact, hidden or controlled. Pluto in Capricorn is revealing the truths of what was kept secret and or, controlled, (Both Pluto and Saturn feature elements of control – rules, boundaries, endings, limits, etc.).
As mentioned earlier, Saturn rules tradition, karma, lessons, authority,
hard work. Capricorn’s movement into Saturn – it’s ruling planet has only
strengthened a collective focus to establish order, structures, tradition, who
has authority (or should) and or, our daily routines and habits.
These two planetary energies seem intense together, but on a positive note,
these energies are creating a friction. Without friction there is no fire, and
with no fire, things remain the same or, at least don’t burn away the old to
transform and or give way to progress – the latter which is also ruled by
Saturn and are the theme Aquarius and Capricorn have in common.
Saturn, Jupiter in Capricorn – Astrological
Expansion, Dissolution, Refinement of Beliefs, Joy
As Saturn’s rings fall away, I feel it’s also a good visual representation of Jupiter
moving into Capricorn December 2nd,, too. Jupiter is the bringer of expansion,
joviality, wealth to high-dollar excess (sometimes), higher wisdom, adventure and
exploration. Jupiter moving into the sign of Capricorn, with its Saturnian
structures of rules and structure may find our ability to expand limited to
where our beliefs ( both positive and negative) and joyful activities are
focused in life.
Real-life Metaphors to the Cosmic Happenings
The disintegration of Saturnian rings is like a metaphor for the progressed changes of our societal ways and traditional structures that have been around for decades to thousands of years, like: coins and paper to Venmo and bitcoin, views of gender norms, marriage and relationships, a shift in power dynamics between women and men to name a few.
Final Cosmic Thoughts
Western astrologers, like David Palmer (a.k.a. the Leo King) whose works are among some I follow, are in agreement that Capricorn in Pluto is transforming/eliminating old ways of doing things and is working with Capricorn in Saturn to do so. We’re approaching the Age of Aquarius (the sign follows Capricorn in astrology). Aquarius rules disruption, change-makers, innovation, new ways of doing things, as well as miracles and divine order.
Astrologically speaking, Saturn doesn’t transition from the it’s home sign of Capricorn to Aquarius until March of 2020. Even though the Aquarian Age has many years to come before it commences, Saturn’s coming move into that sign will aid in the implementing of new ways of society working, living and playing together.
Also, as we’re astrologically moving this Aquarian Age, it’s interesting to
note, that Uranus rules Aquarius and that planet has 9 rings. As if Saturn’s old
rings/structures made of dust are being replaced by Uranus’ icy-rock rings in
the astronomical scheme of things.
I see Saturn’s rings disappearing/deteriorating as representative of the
next changes coming. Old structures, traditions and boundaries (rings), being
broken to make way for the new (Uranian rings?). Also, I see it as a physical,
collective release of our letting go of long-held ideas An Aquarian age is
calling.
